We Naturally Create Purpose Because Life Has Purpose
“Life is writing a story.”

Perception is an interesting, frustrating, and invaluable thing within us. It can be used for great good and great evil, for innovation and destruction, and so many other ways in between. Some see life only as it’s set up during their day and age with little regard to history. Others even add on their own version of history to the present and see the present a little different. Each person consciously and subconsciously adds on their own lens to interpret the world and their life. That’s how life is created.
One thing everyone is also doing, whether consciously or subconsciously, is adding purpose to life. Even if people don’t believe there is a purpose to life, although the vast majority of people believe there is one, but say you or someone you know doesn’t believe there is a purpose, this perception tool we have within us automatically makes us add purpose to life, whether we like it or not.
Once you see this tool of “perception” you’ll never be the same. You’ll see how you empower yourself, deceive yourself, and everything in between. So, the question becomes what to do with this human tool. Well, there’s always the egomaniacal decision to use perception to manipulate and control people. Then there is is the way of using it to find truth and set them free.
Follow with me on this art of life journey about perception, and by the time you’re done reading this ARTicle you’ll see how easy it is to make sense, at least a little bit, of what’s going on this wild and crazy world we live in. There’s purpose that we create on our own, and there is purpose that is latent within life itself. On the most basic level there are the needs for food, human connections, waste removal, maintaining the wilderness, and lots of things that we mostly consider boring. Then there is the exciting stuff.
On the other side of purpose are all of the invigorating things that are much more difficult to comprehend, at least at first. One of my favorite things to use as an example to illustrate this is the invention of the personal computer. Steve Wozniak created the first most widely purchased personal computer, and then Steve Jobs saw the invention the other Steve had made and mass produced it. This was a purpose that never even existed before. It was created out of thin air by the perception of Steve Wozniak’s brain, life experiences, desires, and current technologies available to him that had advanced to the point that allowed the personal computer to exist. What I’m getting at is that he created all kinds of new purpose to be created by adding purpose to individual computer components. He saw a processor, RAM, transistors and all of that computer stuff and combined them together with a newly created purpose.
See, previously, those metals and elements were used for creating buildings, swords, or any number of things, but it was the mind of Steve Wozniak that fashioned the metals and elements into a logic board that eventually became a personal computer. It’s amazing how purpose is both within and without — both in metals in the ground and ideas in the mind.
Each of us have our own unique ideas, experiences, location we live at, etc. Each new product and business that gets created is a product of this purpose creating phenomenon inside of us based on a number of different factors both within and out of our control. It’s the art of being human that we must learn to master and become better in tune with. It’s both entirely a force of it’s own, yet at the same time is also able to be welded and shaped by us. It shows us that life has a purpose, that your life has purpose. That’s a powerful truth to hold onto, and make sure you do hold onto it. It will empower you with hope, and hope is what moves you forward.
When life gets tough and you seem down on your luck, you can know that there is still purpose inside you waiting to be unleashed. For me, I use my perception in trying to understand human nature, God, and big ideas for movies and books, and in helping other minds awaken to purpose and passion for their purposes within them. My hope for you with this specific ARTicle is that you can better appreciate this creative process in creating purpose, and with that appreciation, I hope you come to have a better focus at creating the life that you’re dreaming of living. After all, that’s what we’re here for. We’re here to create dreams into reality with purpose, at least that’s my read on life. You’ll come to your own conclusions, of course, with your perceptions.
The final thing I’ll bring up on this subject is going back to that collective purpose — eating, connecting to other humans, waste management of the body and world, etc. As mundane as I make those things sound right there or how they may feel while we do them, those are the simple things that connect us all together. It’s how life was created to remind us not to get too caught up on our big dreams that we fail to appreciate the simple things in life. It’s those simple purposes that keep us grounded and remind us how, deep down, we’re really all the same — similar needs, similar desires, and a similar simplicity.
To be or not to be, that is the question, as Shakespeare puts it. What you do carries on after you leave Earth, and it leaves a lasting imprint on the generations that follow. It’s what we make ourselves and life become. Find something that lights you up, and put your hands to it to become excellent. It won’t come right away, and it will take a lot of work, but that’s why you’re here — to sacrifice until you become a dream maker. You’re here to make a dent in life. You’re here to make a difference, to live a life worthy of being lived. This is the “art” of increasing both joy, justice, peace, love, celebration, and everything good that will ever come into being from us. Life has purpose.
